Thank you for joining us for today’s Parents as Learning Partners event. Pictures from the day will be posted on Class Dojo. I encourage you all to take a look. Parents as Learning Partners will not be held in the month of March because of State testing requirements.
During the February break, renovation began on the third floor girl’s bathroom. The bathroom has been completely demolished. New floor tile and wall tile has already been installed and grouted. Next up is the installation of new toilets, sinks and bathroom stalls. The 3rd floor girl’s bathroom will remain closed until construction is complete in approximately 2-3 weeks.
The book fair will be open to students on Monday and Tuesday of next week. The book fair will be available to families during Parent Teacher Conferences on March 4thand 5th.
The PTA will be hosting a special game night this evening for grandparents or someone special in your child’s life. The event will be held in the auditorium from 6:30 – 8:30pm.
Permission slips for our second cycle of enrichment programs were sent home this week. Please make sure to send those slips in with your child as soon as possible.
Saturday school begins tomorrow for students in grades 3-5. The program begins at 9am and ends at 12pm. Please make sure that your child arrives on time to the program. Breakfast will be served beginning at 8:30am
A note went home this week about the coronavirus (COVID-19) which included a handout of FAQ’s. Please talk with your child about the importance of frequent hand washing and covering their nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing. We are reminding children that covering your nose or mouth should be done with a tissue or a sleeve and never your hands.
Parent teacher conferences will be held next week on March 4th from 4:30pm – 7:30pm and March 5th from 1-3 pm. Teachers will meet with parents according to appointment time. In order to accommodate all families, parents that are late for appointments may have their meeting time shortened or be asked to reschedule their meeting for another time. If you find you need more than your allotted time to speak with your child’s teacher, teachers will be happy to schedule an alternate time to meet. A reminder of the date and time of your previously scheduled appointment will be sent home next week.
On Thursday March 5th, students will have a half day of school. All students will be dismissed at 12 noon through their regular exits.
