Construction on the 3rd floor girl’s bathroom is almost complete. New flooring, new wall tiles, new toilets and sinks have been installed. Bathroom partitions are being erected. We are hopeful that the bathroom will be completed in the next week or two.
The construction crew working on our school’s new gymnasium continue to make progress. This week, the crew has successfully installed concrete flooring. Plumbing hook-ups are in place as are connections for any necessary electric.

Another note went home this week with updates about the coronavirus (COVID-19). Teachers have spent time this week studying proper hand washing techniques with students. At P.S. 172, we continue to work to ensure our students stay healthy. The custodian will continue with daily cleanings and add 2 additional deep cleanings each week. Light switches and doorknobs will receive regular cleanings and custodial workers will be checking all school bathrooms every 1 1/2 - 2 hours to ensure that soap dispensers are filled and paper towels are available for student use. Protocols are in place for any children who present with a respiratory illness at school. Any student with a fever are encouraged to stay home from school. If your child is home with a respiratory illness, parents should make it a point to contact the school and let us know. I will continue to forward information as I receive it.
