Please check your child’s backpacks today for a letter about school supplies for the 2019-2020 school year. This year, PS 172 has partnered with Schoolkidz/Teacher Tailored to provide an easier way for families to purchase school supplies. This is a voluntary program. Parents are free to purchase school supplies on their own in the summer months! If you do choose to purchase supplies from Schoolkidz/Teacher Tailored, your child’s supplies will be shipped to the school the week before school begins and will be waiting for your child on their desk on the first day of school. Please call the main office if you need any additional information.
PS 172 is part of NYC’s “schoolyards to playgrounds” program. This program opens up our schoolyard to the community during non-school hours (typically this begins after school is dismissed until dusk every evening). Please note that school personnel do not monitor the playground during these hours.
Just a quick reminder…Dogs are not permitted in the schoolyard at any time! Please do not bring your animals to the playground.
Tomorrow- Saturday June 8th at 1:00pm, a Stop Motion Animation screening will be held at the NARS foundation at 201 46th street. The screening features the work created by PS 172 students. If you are in the neighborhood, take a few minutes to check it out!

Please do not try to cross the street between parked cars or in the middle of the block. This creates a terrible safety hazard and sets a poor example for our youngest students.
