Breathe. Unplug. Reset. This workshop is designed to provide practical strategies for managing stress and fostering a supportive atmosphere for your children.

Hello Parents and Supporters,

Quick update! We have just added two fantastic new items to the Fifth Grade Graduation Auction:

Relax & Unwind: A 60-minute massage at Red Moon Wellness.

These join our current lineup of amazing offerings, including summer camps, boxing classes, and birthday party packages.

☕ Warm Up & Support Our 5th Graders this Friday!

Looking for a sweet treat to end the week? Come warm up at the Hot Cocoa & Snack Bar!

Join us this Friday, February 13th at 2:30 PM right by the Main Entrance. We will be serving up delicious hot chocolate and snacks to celebrate the season.

All funds raised will go directly to support the Fifth Grade Graduation. It’s a great way to enjoy a treat while helping our graduating class celebrate their big milestone.

We look forward to seeing our families there!

Important Reminders & Looking Ahead

Spring Recess: School will be closed from Thursday, April 2 to Friday, April 10. Classes resume on Monday, April 13.

Proposal to Rename P.S. 172 Beacon School of Excellence to The Annette Hendrickson Beacon School of Excellence

Annette Hendrickson was a beloved and longstanding member of the P.S. 172 community whose lifelong dedication helped shape our school’s culture and spirit. Mrs. Hendrickson’s connection to P.S. 172 began as a student, and she later entrusted her four children to our care as students as well.

While her children attended P.S. 172, Mrs. Hendrickson became an active member of the PTA, ultimately serving as PTA President. Following her children’s graduation, she joined the school staff as a school aide, advanced to supervising school aide, and later became P.S. 172’s first Parent Coordinator—a position she held and cherished for more than two decades.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Hendrickson exemplified unwavering commitment, compassion, and service to the students, families, and staff of P.S. 172. Her impact on our community is immeasurable, and her legacy continues to inspire us every day.

To honor her extraordinary contributions, the P.S. 172 community respectfully proposes renaming our school from The Beacon School of Excellence to The Annette Hendrickson Beacon School of Excellence. We believe this change would serve as a lasting tribute to her remarkable dedication and the positive influence she had on generations of P.S. 172 families.
