P.S. 172 After School Enrichment Clubs

P.S.172 is proud to offer a biannual after school enrichment clubs across STEM, arts, and movement. With the support and generosity of the PTA, PS 172, and scholarships from PS 172 families, we strive to keep registration fees low, allowing all students the opportunity to discover new interests.

Sept 22 Class catalog/club applications released on Dojo & the P.S. 172 website

Sep 28 @ Midnight - Online Applications Close

Oct 2 - Find out what club you got into! Look in your student’s backpack for a letter (permission slip) to find out their placement.

Oct 6 - Scholarship requests due.

Oct 8 - Scholarship grants confirmed.

Oct 9 - Payment and permission slips due.

When do clubs start?

Clubs run for 8 weeks in the fall (Oct-Dec) and spring (Mar-May)

My student attends a PS 172 after school program. Can they still join a club?

Yes! Students may participate in a club while still attending the school after care programs (NIA or TEiAM). After their club meets for the day, students in after care are returned to their respective after care programs.

How will my students get to their club at the end of the school day?

Classroom teachers bring students to a designated area in the school where club leaders are waiting to pick up students for their clubs.

Can my student join more than one club?

Yes--depending club availability.

What clubs are there?

Club offerings vary according to season and availability. Past clubs include cooking, coding, basketball, arts and crafts, yoga, dance, and theater arts. We've partnered with organizations such as Treasure Trunk Theater, Gymstars, Splat Lab, StoryTime Chess, Sunset Spark, Eagle-E Fitness, Brooklyn Robot Foundry , SocceRoof and more! PS 172 staff also bring their individual talents to lead clubs in cooking, coding, Spanish language + Culture!

How can my student join a club?

Students apply online for their top 3 clubs, and then wait to receive an offer letter. Offers are secured through payment of the enrollment fee and permission slip. See our schedule for Fall 2026, and check on Class Dojo for when applications open!

What is the enrollment fee?

Information on enrollment fees is released when applications open. Scholarships are available! The PTA endeavors to keep fees low by subsidizing over 50% of the total cost of the program, as well as drawing support from the generosity of the school and its families.
