TEiAM After School Program at P.S. 172
REGISTRATION FOR TEiAM is NOW OPEN for the 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR!
For the 2026–2027 school year, P.S. 172 will continue our partnership with TEiAM, an organization that offers families affordable and flexible after-school childcare for PreK - Fifth grade students.
About TEiAM
There is no “i” in TEAM, but it is placed there to represent the organization's "innovative" side. TEiAM was founded in 2019 with the mission to fill the need of STEAM programming in schools and provide a well rounded, affordable after school program for families. The after school program is scheduled to make time every day for physical activity and games, homework, snack and STEAM activities for registered 'TEiAM-mates' in Pre-K through grade 5.

TEiAM is all about flexibility and families can choose what amount of care works for their schedules! Families can choose from the following options:
- Full-time care: Pre-select up to 5 days per week. $50 registration fee & $19/day
- Scheduled, Part-time care: Select specific days (e.g., Mondays only, or Mondays and Wednesdays). $50 registration day & $19/day

Registration for TEiAM after care program takes place directly through TEiAM. Questions about pricing, scholarships, programming, and scheduling should be directed to TEiAM. If you need support or have questions about the program, please email info@TEIAM.org
TEiAM uses the Kangarootime app for registration and billing. Take a look at this list of helpful Kangarootime links for more support.
Important Registration Information
Once you begin the registration process, you will have 7 days to complete it. You will be asked to submit health forms, so please be prepared in advance. You will receive a confirmation email from TEIAMS—make sure to click the confirmation link. If you do not complete this step, your registration will not be finalized and your application may be lost. If your registration is not completed within 7 days, you will need to restart the process from the beginning.
The general program participation rate of $19/day requires monthly commitment to the predetermined days of your child’s part-time or full-time schedule. These are the days you are committed to paying for the month. When registering through the Kangarootime app, you agree to the payment plan chosen in the registration application and authorize TEiAM to charge fees related to this trimester to the credit card institution provided.
The first month’s payment must be paid in full prior to the first day of your child attending class. If payment is not made, your child will not be permitted to attend the program. If there is a waiting list for TEiAM after school and your payment has not yet been received, your child’s spot will be released and he/she will be moved to the bottom of the waiting list. Registration fee is $50 for the school year 2026/2027. Once the registration fee and the first month has been paid and the first scheduled class has occurred, all fees paid are non-refundable. Credit will not be issued for a child that is absent, including for illness.
To change the days for the following month’s contract, please email Accounting@TEiAM.org. The days will need to be changed prior to the 13th of the month to avoid invoice disruption.
Emergency/Drop-in Care
TEiAM also provides drop-in emergency care for families in need! Emergency/Drop-In care is available at $25 per day, with no commitment needed. In order to use the emergency/drop-in care option, you must register via the Kangarootime app and pay the one-time, $50 registration fee.
How to Pay & Changing Days for the Upcoming Month
You will be sent monthly invoices via Kangarootime on the 13th of each month for the upcoming month.
If you have your child enrolled for full-time or part-time care, you can change the dates for the upcoming month- changes to the upcoming month must be made before the 13th of each month.
To change the days for the following month, login to your Kangarootime app to make the change. The days must be changed prior to the 13th of the month to avoid invoice disruption. Once you choose the days of the month, the app will send an invoice which is paid directly via a credit card attached to your Kangarootime app. For example, to set up September TEiAM care for your child, login to the Kangarootime app by August 13 to indicate which days of the week you need aftercare for your child for the month of September. The first month’s payment must be paid in full prior to the first day of your child attending class. If payment is not made, your child will not be permitted to attend the program.
Late Policy/Late Pick-up Fee
TEiAM-mates must be picked up by 6:00 P.M. to avoid being charged a late fee. After 6:01pm, a late fee will automatically be billed to your account in the amount of $25 per 10 minutes, for each child enrolled.
Late pick ups after the 6 p.m. closing are unable to be accommodated by TEiAM staff. After closing, if TEiAM is unable to contact you or any of the emergency contacts provided, local authorities (e.g. FDNY) will be called after a reasonable amount of time has passed. While we understand emergencies do occur, if caregivers are regularly unable to pick up their child by 6pm, TEiAM has the authority to remove your child from the program.

Behavior Management Policy
TEiAM has adopted the following procedures regarding behavior management. Parents are always welcome to arrange a meeting with the program director to discuss individual needs and concerns. We use a consistent, positive approach including redirection, diversion and separation, always promoting self-discipline. We encourage students to engage in conflict resolution.
1. Should inappropriate behavior occur, the concern will be discussed with the students.
2. Should inappropriate behavior continue, a second warning will be given and the parents will be notified in writing.
3. Should inappropriate behavior still continue, a third warning will be given, and the student will be suspended for the following day of class. (Refunds will not be given.)
4. Continued behavior problems may result in permanent dismissal. (Refunds will not be given.)
Electronics/Device Policy
While we understand some students may bring electronics with them to school, students enrolled in TEiAM after school will be strictly prohibited from using them during after school hours. If a child disobeys this policy, any electronics in question will be confiscated until pick up, and the issue will be discussed with the child’s guardian.
Pick-up from TEiAM After Care Program (before 6:00 P.M.)
When children are picked up, the authorized person doing pick-up must sign the child out of the program via the Kangarootime app. Children will only be released to people you have authorized to pick up.
