PTA

We are an enthusiastic, diverse and fun-loving group of caregivers, teachers, administration, and staff at PS172. Our mission is to build and support a school community that is connected, engaged, and equitable. We offer time, talent and support to the ongoing education, enrichment and social/emotional wellbeing of the P.S.172 community. We strive to cultivate community participation and engagement, and provide the funding and programs needed to sustain a rich learning environment for our students. We are an nonprofit organization with 501(c)3 status and 100% volunteer driven.

We welcome all current members of the PS172 family to join us! Whether you have 10 minutes, 1 hour, or a whole morning available, we have a volunteer opportunity for you.

  • Fundraising Committee - From raffles to event nights, strategize fundraising opportunities for the PTA
  • Fifth Grade Council - Help make our fifth graders’ final year at P.S. 172 a memorable one! Plan and produce graduation, the senior trip, and more
  • School Spirit Committee - Help design, produce, and distribute spiritwear for our school
  • Enrichment Committee - Find vendors, plan and organize club schedule, process registration, and more!
  • Book Fair Committee - Help plan and host our Scholastic Book Fair at the school
