Kindergarten Admissions

 

    

Kindergarten applications for the 2026-2027 school year open December 9, 2025 and close on January 23, 2026. 

Kindergarten offers will be released on March 31, 2026.

Pre-K Admissions

In New York City, children begin Pre-K in the calendar year they turn four. There is a Pre-K seat for every four-year-old in New York City. Children who attend free, full-day, high-quality Pre-K learn through play, build skills, and work together —  learn more about the benefits of Pre-K here.

Below are the applications open, close, and offer release dates. These dates are for students who are applying during the 2025-2026 school year for admission in the 2026-2027 school year.

  • Wednesday, January 14, 2026: Pre-K Application Opens
  • Friday, February 27, 2026: Pre-K Application Closes
  • Tuesday, May 12, 2026: Pre-K Offer Release
