P.S. 172 is excited to announce that we are the recipients of a free DYCD after school program for the 2026-2027 school year. The DYCD contract secures this program for the next six years. Our DYCD after school partner provider is NIA.
General Information about NIA

Free after-school program for students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade

120 seats are available. If the number of applicants exceeds available seats, students will be selected through a lottery process, with priority given to students in temporary housing.

Sibling priority: If a student is offered a seat in the program, their siblings will receive priority enrollment.

Attendance requirement: Students enrolled in the NIA program are expected to attend five days per week.

Dismissal/Pick-up: Students must be picked up between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
How to Apply

Enrollment for the 2026–2027 DYCD-funded NIA After-School Program has not yet opened. NIA cannot begin registration until the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) releases the citywide online application.

Once the application becomes available, P.S. 172 will share an enrollment flyer and registration instructions with all families.

Applications must be submitted directly through the DYCD online application portal.
